Lido Di Caldonazzo

Italy Lake 1 - Excellent

Lido di Caldonazzo is a bathing beach on Lake Caldonazzo in the Trentino Alto Adige region. The beach features a gravelly surface with minimal slope and is 300 metres long and 15–25 metres wide. It accommodates approximately 600 bathers per day. The water body is a lake located at 449 metres above sea level with an area of 0.45 square kilometres.

Bathing establishment, boat rental, restaurant, bar, toilets, first aid, parking, recreational areas, cycle path, camping. Animals not permitted.

Water Quality

Water quality classification: EXCELLENT (2016–2019). All wastewater discharges in Caldonazzo municipality are correctly connected to the inter-municipal sewer system. Nitrate concentrations are well below vulnerability thresholds. Total phosphorus concentration averaged 21 µg/l for 2014–2016. An internal phosphorus load from sediment release during anoxic periods is estimated at approximately 28% of total load.

Risks

Cyanobacterial blooms occurred in May 2016: Aphanocapsa holsatica (2.32×10⁴ cell/ml) and Cyanodictyon sp. (3.73×10⁴ cell/ml). No adverse effects on bathers were reported. Monthly algal monitoring conducted from May to September.
