Spiaggia La Taverna

Italy Lake 1 - Excellent

Spiaggia la Taverna is a pebble beach located on the southeastern shore of Lake Levico in the Trentino Alto Adige region. The beach features a sandy strip approximately 3 metres wide from the waterline, with a sloping bottom reaching approximately 3 metres depth over a 200-metre radius before becoming muddy. The private beach measures 170 metres in length with widths ranging from 10 to 40 metres, while the adjacent public beach Segantini extends 150 metres with similar width variations. Peak visitor numbers reach approximately 100 people on the private beach and 200 on the public beach during holidays.

Water

Lake Levico. Area of 1.1 square kilometres. Maximum depth approximately 3 metres over a radius of 200 metres from shore, with muddy bottom beginning at approximately 5 metres from the beach. Lake belongs to the Brenta river basin.

Location

Levico Terme, Trentino Alto Adige region, Trento province, at 440 metres above sea level. The beaches are situated on the southeastern side of Lake Levico, between the waterside promenade extending north along Strada dei Pescatori and Lido di Levico beach. Several hotels are located behind the beaches.

Facilities

Public beach (Segantini): Lifeguard service with watchtower and emergency equipment, pedalos and motorised rescue vessel, toilets including disabled access, children's play area, parking. Private beach (Taverna): Lifeguard and first aid service with equipped first aid station, hotel, toilets including disabled access, cabins, jetties, parking, recreational area, bar and restaurant, showers and changing rooms with lockers, indoor and outdoor swimming pool, wellness and beauty centre, children's play area, boat and mountain bike rental.

Water Quality

Water quality classification: Excellent (2016, 2017, 2018, 2019). Total phosphorus concentration for 2014–2016 averaged 15 µg/l. Nitrate concentrations are well below vulnerability thresholds. No point source pollution elements detected. No causes of possible pollution identified.
