Nyby Havn is a bathing beach approximately 300 meters long and 10 meters wide, featuring a sand beach with some stones and seaweed. A bathing terrace has been established at the end of the pier, with large stones lining the pier itself. The beach is classified as Excellent based on measurements of intestinal enterococci and E. coli from 2018-2021.

Marine water body. The beach is approximately 300 meters long and 10 meters wide. The main current direction is westerly and southwesterly.

Location

Nyby Havn is accessed via Nybyvej, which ends at the pier. A parking area is located to the left immediately before the pier. Direct access to the beach is available from the parking area via a path, or visitors can walk to the bathing terrace at the end of the pier. A small marina with toilet and bathing facilities is located at the end of the pier.

Facilities

Accessible ramp for wheelchair users leading to the bathing terrace. Toilet and shower facilities available at the small marina at the end of the pier. Information boards on the beach provide notifications of water quality warnings.

Water Quality

Classification: Excellent. Water quality is based on measurements of intestinal enterococci and E. coli taken during 2018-2021. Short-term pollution most often occurs after heavy rainfall, which can cause overflow in drains and watercourses, typically lasting a maximum of 3 days after rainfall stops.

Risks

A drain outlet near Nybyvej where the pier starts presents a fecal pollution risk, as the dominant current direction is southerly and westerly. Potential risks include cyanobacteria (blue-green algae) and macroalgae growth. Large quantities of seaweed can promote bacterial growth and extend the survival of fecal bacteria in water. Heavy rainfall can cause temporary pollution from drain and watercourse overflow.
