Ulstrup at Campingplads is a beach approximately 410 metres long and 10 metres wide, featuring small and large stones with sparse vegetation. The seabed consists of sandy areas interspersed with stones and seaweed. The beach is accessed from Røsnæsvej via Elvervej through a forest area or via footpaths from Slothsvej. Water quality measurements for intestinal enterococci and E. coli from 2018–2021 classify the beach as Excellent.

Water

Marine beach approximately 410 metres long and 10 metres wide. The seabed consists of sandy areas, stones, and seaweed. Primary current direction is eastward.

Location

The beach is accessed from Røsnæsvej and via Elvervej through a forest area, or via footpaths from Slothsvej. No parking spaces are available.

Water Quality

Water quality classification: Excellent, based on measurements of intestinal enterococci and E. coli from 2018–2021. The beach is monitored at least four times per year. Identified pollution sources include Ulstrup treatment plant and a private discharge at the forest edge on the east part of the beach. Risk from the treatment plant is assessed as minimal due to rare overflow events and dominant eastward current direction that carries water away from the bathing area. The private discharge is not considered a risk due to current direction.

Risks

Short-term pollution may occur after heavy rainfall, causing overflow at the treatment plant, drains, and streams, typically lasting up to three days after rainfall ceases. Cyanobacteria blooms and large quantities of seaweed (macroalgae) pose potential health risks; large amounts of seaweed can promote bacterial growth and prolong survival of faecal bacteria. Occasional pollution from glass fragments, litter, and chemical contamination may occur.
