Palmaria Cala dei Gabbiani is a rocky coastal bathing area on the northwestern side of Palmaria Island between Punta Secca and Capo dell'Isola in the Ligurian Sea. The area is classified as coastal waters with mountainous terrain and low stability. The water quality has been rated excellent for the period 2008–2011.

Water Quality

Water quality classification: Excellent (2008–2011). No coastal treatment plants, conduits, or Imhoff tanks are present in the area.

Risks

The Ligurian Sea is not characterised by cyanobacteria blooms due to predominantly oligotrophic conditions. No cases of potentially toxic algal strain proliferation have been recorded in the past four years.
