Panagiés is a sandy beach located immediately adjacent to Saint Raphael Marina in Cyprus. The beach vegetation consists primarily of ornamental species and palm trees planted by nearby hotel facilities. The shoreline is 170 metres long with an average water depth of 1.5 metres and a maximum depth of 2.5 metres. Water sports activities take place at this location, with a maximum daily bather count of 300 people.

Water

Coastal marine water body (Saint Raphael Marina). Sandy seabed with sparse pebbles. Average water depth 1.5 metres, maximum depth 2.5 metres. Beach length 170 metres. No seagrass vegetation observed on the seabed.

Location

The bathing area is located in the Pyrgos community, Limassol district. Coordinates: 33.1679°E, 34.7111°N (ETRS89). The monitoring point is positioned where the main concentration of swimmers is expected to occur under normal conditions due to easier access.

Facilities

Waste collection bins are present along the entire beach. Toilet facilities are provided by adjacent hotel units. Summer services including loungers and umbrellas are offered. No dedicated public facilities for public use.

Water Quality

Water quality is classified as excellent based on monitoring data. The coastal water body belongs to a larger body in good ecological condition. The bathing area was included in the monitoring programme in 2010. No internal surface water body association.

Risks

Possible pollution sources include Saint Raphael Marina to the west and vessels travelling to and from the marina. Moderate risk of macroalgae and phytoplankton development. Short-term pollution risk is low, with an estimated frequency of once during the bathing season lasting 1–2 days, potentially from passing vessels.
