Piazzale Trieste is a sandy beach in Pesaro with fine quartz-feldspar and limestone-flint sand. The beach has a gentle slope of 3% on both emerged and submerged areas and is protected by artificial rocky outcrops. The distance between average low water and the safe water limit is 80 metres, with astronomical tides ranging from 30 to 50 centimetres. The surrounding area is densely urbanized.

Facilities

Equipped bathing establishment with beach concession. Dogs and other animals are prohibited during the bathing season. Municipal Police manages the area.

Water quality classification: E. The Pesaro municipality operates five wastewater treatment plants. The largest facility at Borgheria near the Foglia river mouth serves the urban nucleus of Pesaro with a capacity of approximately 90,000 population equivalents and a flow rate of approximately 20,000 cubic metres per day using biological treatment. This facility has undergone 24 annual parameter controls under Dlgs 152/2006 Table 1 and 6 annual controls under Table 3 over the past 4 years, all compliant with legal limits.
