Viale Vaccai is a bathing beach in Pesaro with both sandy and rocky sections, featuring artificial breakwaters. The beach has fine quartz-feldspar and limestone sand with a gentle slope of 3%. It is protected by artificial emerged breakwaters, with an average width of 35 metres. The beach is situated in a densely urbanised area.

Water

Pesaro_Fano water body. The distance between medium-low and high water (safe water limit) is 80 metres. Astronomical tide range is 30–50 centimetres. The beach has a median slope of 3% for both emerged and submerged sections.

Location

Pesaro, Marche region, Pesaro-Urbino province, Italy. Part of the beach is in a free area with breakwaters, and part is operated as a bathing establishment. Municipal Police can be contacted at 0721 387800.

Facilities

Part of the beach is operated as a bathing establishment with services. Dogs and other animals are prohibited on the beach during the bathing season.

Water Quality

Classification: E (poor). The Pesaro municipal sewage network has mixed-type collectors conveying wastewater to five treatment plants in the territory. The largest plant is located at Borgheria near the mouth of the Foglia River, serving the Pesaro urban area with a capacity of approximately 90,000 population equivalents and a flow rate of approximately 20,000 cubic metres per day with biological treatment. This plant has undergone 24 parameter checks per year under Table 1 of Annex V of Legislative Decree 152/2006 and 6 checks per year under Table 3, all compliant with legal limits over the last 4 years.
