San Terenzo Marinella is a bathing area located in the Gulf of La Spezia in Liguria. It consists of a high, rocky coastline with an adjacent sandy beach. The area extends 0.979 square kilometres and is characterized by the rocky section continuing eastward to the San Terenzo beach up to Castello point.

Water Quality

Water quality classified as EXCELLENT for the period 2008–2011. The Ligurian Sea is not characterized by cyanobacterial blooms due to predominant oligotrophic conditions. There have been no cases of potentially toxic algal strain proliferation in the past four years.

Risks

River mouth identified as a source of pollution impact on bathing water. A modelling approach for characterizing short-duration pollution events and anomalous situations is under development.
