Skranderup is a bathing beach located on northern Mors in Denmark, approximately 2 km from Feggesundvej. The beach is approximately 700 metres long and 7 metres wide on average, consisting primarily of small stones with small stone breakwaters. The seabed comprises mainly sand and larger stones. Water depth increases gradually, requiring approximately 100 metres from the shore to reach 2 metres depth.

Saltwater in Limfjorden. Beach approximately 700 metres long and 7 metres wide on average. Water depth reaches 2 metres approximately 100 metres from shore. Dominant current directions are from west and southwest.

Location

Northern Mors, approximately 2 km from Feggesundvej. Access via Ropsøvej from Feggesundvej. Good parking available on grass along the beach.

Facilities

Picnic tables and benches, rescue station, bathing platform.

Season

Monitoring occurs during the bathing season. Classification is reviewed annually before the bathing season starts.

Water Quality

Classification: Good quality. Based on routine monitoring samples tested for E. coli and enterococci during the bathing season from 2013-2016. Good quality threshold: Enterococci ≤200 per 100 ml (95th percentile), E. coli ≤500 per 100 ml (95th percentile). Classification is reviewed annually before the bathing season. No nearby sources of faecal pollution were identified.

Risks

Low risk of cyanobacteria and phytoplankton blooms, though they can occur suddenly during extended warm periods with nutrient-rich water. Low risk of large quantities of macroalgae (seaweed) being washed ashore. Glass shards, waste, and chemical pollution including oil spills may occur. Sudden pollution from ship accidents, leisure boats, and sewage pipes is possible.
