Thisted Camping

Thisted Camping is a bathing beach located in the eastern part of Thisted town on the Limfjorden. The beach is approximately 13 metres wide and 500 metres long, consisting of stones and backed by a grass slope. The beach is situated about 1,300 metres from other local beaches and is sheltered by the grass slope with the camping area behind it.

Water

Limfjorden. Salinity 18–30 psu. Water depth reaches 2 metres approximately 160 metres from the water's edge. Summer water temperature ranges from 11–22 degrees Celsius. Local currents vary with wind conditions and tidal movements.

Location

Thisted, eastern end of the town. Follow Fårtoftvej east towards Thisted until signs for Thisted Camping appear. Parking is available approximately 70 metres from the beach. The nearest address is Iversensvej 3, 7700 Thisted.

Bathing pier, parking, tables and benches, fireplace, waste bins, life ring.

Bathing water is monitored throughout the bathing season.

Water Quality

Water quality is classified as excellent, the highest classification available. This classification is based on bathing water analyses from the previous four years. Analysis results are available on the municipality's website.

Risks

Seaweed (kelp) can wash ashore during strong winds and onshore winds, causing aesthetic problems and potentially producing odours as decomposing seaweed mats consume oxygen. Algal blooms and cyanobacteria can occur during warm, calm, sunny weather typically from April to October, though no blooms have been observed in this area.
