Sottomarina is a equipped beach located on the peninsula separating the Venice Lagoon and the Adriatic Sea to the south. The bathing water profile covers an area approximately 200 metres south of the mouth of Chioggia port. The beach extends for about 5 kilometres along a north-south orientation. The bathing water has been classified as excellent for the years 2021–2024.

Location

Chioggia, Venice Province, Veneto Region, Italy. Located approximately 200 metres south of Chioggia port mouth on the Sottomarina peninsula.

Water Quality

Classification: Excellent (2021–2024). EI95° 15.345; EI90° 14.095; EC95° 45.792; EC90° 35.899. No river mouths identified as pollution sources. Wastewater treatment: Chioggia–Brondolo treatment plant (designed capacity 160,000 population equivalents) located 3.3 kilometres from the sea discharge point.
