A free public pebble beach located to the east of the Nervia River mouth in the Liguria region. The beach includes an area designated for dogs. The bathing water achieved an excellent classification for the four-year period 2020–2023.

Water

Coastal water body with an area of 0.243 km². Part of the water body system designated as Ventimiglia–Bordighera.

Location

Ventimiglia, Imperia Province, Liguria region. The beach is situated near Camporosso. Contact: Municipality of Camporosso, Piazza Giuseppe Garibaldi 35, 18033 Camporosso IM, telephone +39 0184 28771.

Water Quality

Water quality classification: Excellent (2020–2023 four-year evaluation). An active sewage outfall from the Vallecrosia treatment plant discharges approximately 1000 metres from shore, outside the bathing water boundary. Ostreopsis ovata microalgae monitoring is conducted at reference station TINO at Mortola; no exceedances of the 30,000 cells/litre limit occurred between 2019 and 2023.

Risks

During heavy precipitation, increased water flow in torrents can transport sewage downstream. The Nervia River mouth is located at the western boundary of the bathing water. Ostreopsis ovata can cause temporary and reversible respiratory effects and fever in sensitive individuals through aerosol inhalation.
