Porto is a sandy beach located east of the Rupinaro Torrent mouth and west of Chiavari port in Liguria. The beach is classified as having sufficient water quality based on 2011-2014 monitoring data. The Ligurian Sea is characterised by oligotrophic conditions that prevent cyanobacterial blooms.

Coastal waters in the Chiavari–Sestri Levante water body. The bathing area extends 0.464 km². The beach is predominantly sandy.

Location

Water quality classification: SUFFICIENTE (Sufficient) 2011-2014. No coastal treatment plants, outfalls, or Imhoff tanks are present. The port has been identified as a pollution source. No specific monitoring measures or programmes are currently in place.

The port is identified as a potential source of pollution impact on bathing water. No cyanobacterial blooms have been recorded. No toxic algal blooms or potentially toxic algal species have occurred in the past four years.
