Location

Stresa, Province of Verbano Cusio Ossola, Piedmont region. The beach is situated near Hotel Regina. The municipality office is located at Piazza Matteotti 6, 28838 Stresa. Parking information is not provided.

Water Quality

Water quality classification: EXCELLENT. Based on 18 routine samples from 2021-2024. Escherichia coli 90th percentile: 221.1 MPN/100 ml; 95th percentile: 401.2 MPN/100 ml. Enterococci 90th percentile: 86.6 MPN/100 ml; 95th percentile: 157.2 MPN/100 ml. A wastewater overflow structure is present 200 meters upstream in the collection zone. The treatment plant is located 10 km south of the monitoring point.

Risks

A stream approximately 200 meters from the monitoring zone could influence bathing water quality. Scattered houses upstream may not be connected to the sewage network. Heavy rainfall can trigger overflow structures, releasing untreated effluent into the lake. Boats may release mineral oils and fuel. No cyanobacterial or macroalgae proliferation has been detected in the past four years.
