Strandvejen Strand is a sandy beach near Korsør in Slagelse Municipality, Denmark, oriented toward the southwest and divided by four groynes. The beach is between 20 and 30 metres wide and approximately 110 metres long, bordered by residential buildings. The seabed to a depth of about 2 metres consists of sand and seaweed, with water classified as saltwater.

Water

Saltwater beach. The beach is 20–30 metres wide and approximately 110 metres long. Distance to 2 metres depth is between 100 and 150 metres. The seabed to 2 metres depth consists of sand and seaweed. Water depth is relatively small and varies due to tidal conditions, currents, and weather.

Location

Located near Korsør in Slagelse Municipality. Access is via Strandvejen road, with parking at the end of the road.

Facilities

Parking available at the end of Strandvejen road. The municipality displays warnings at the beach and on its website in cases of poor water quality.

Water Quality

Water quality is classified as poor, based on data from 2012–2017. Monitoring occurs 6 times per year. Risk of faecal pollution exists from combined sewer overflow during extreme rainfall events. There is no detected connection between flow direction and increased pollution. Occasional pollution from incidents such as fuel spills, chemical contamination, and litter may occur.

Risk of faecal pollution from combined sewer overflow during extreme rainfall; Slagelse Municipality recommends against bathing for 3 days following extreme rain events. Risk of blue-green algae bloom is assessed as low, though bloom can occur during prolonged warm periods with nutrient-rich water. Risk of seaweed accumulation at the waterline; seaweed typically washes away within a few days due to favourable flow conditions. Toxic plankton has not been detected in open areas. Occasional glass, litter, and chemical pollution including oil spills may occur.
