Sunddraget Oddesund is a 300-metre-long bathing beach located in Nissum Bredning, west of a small summer house area. The beach is primarily composed of sand covered by small and medium-sized stones and mussel shells, with visible sand only in the lower 3-5 metres from the water's edge. The fjord bottom offshore is covered with medium-sized stones. The beach is situated within a scenic natural area in Oddesund featuring wetlands and steep cliffs.

Water

Saltwater in Limfjorden. Water depth increases gradually offshore, reaching 2 metres at approximately 230 metres from the coast. Current direction is variable, primarily from the west.

Location

The beach is located in Oddesund in Nissum Bredning, Struer Municipality, Denmark. Access is available by vehicle through the adjacent summer house area.

Water Quality

Water quality classification: Excellent. Meets required quality standards based on routine monitoring between 2011–2014 for indicator bacteria E. coli and enterococci. Classification is revised annually before the bathing water season.

Risks

Low risk of blue-green algae (cyanobacteria) blooms. Low risk of phytoplankton blooms. Low risk of large seaweed (macroalgae) accumulation at the water's edge. Potential for sudden pollution from boat accidents, slurry tank spills, and sewer line failures. Glass shards, waste, and chemical pollution including oil spills may occur.
