Tæbring is a bathing beach located on western Mors in Dragstrup Bay, Denmark. The beach is approximately 300 meters long with a gravel sand composition and varying width between 10 and 20 meters. The water in Limfjorden is classified as salt water with the dominant current direction from the west. The beach has been classified as having Excellent water quality based on routine monitoring of indicator bacteria.

Water

Limfjorden salt water. The seabed consists primarily of gravel sand. Water depth reaches 2 meters between 120 and 200 meters from the shore. The dominant current direction is from the west.

Location

Western Mors in Dragstrup Bay, accessed via the public road Præstegårdsvej. Limited parking available for approximately 10 vehicles.

Season

Monitoring conducted during the bathing season. Classification is revised annually before the start of the bathing season.

Water Quality

Water quality classification: Excellent. Classification is based on routine monitoring of E. coli and enterococci during the bathing season (2013-2016 data). Morsø Kommune conducts regular control sampling during the bathing season to analyze for fecal indicator bacteria.

Risks

The stream Tæbring Å discharges immediately east of the beach and is periodically affected by wastewater, particularly from combined sewer overflows from Tæbring during heavy rainfall events and to a lesser extent from individual properties in the catchment area. There is permanent risk when bathing at or near the stream outlet. Morsø Kommune advises against bathing at or near the outlet during heavy rainfall due to overflows. Risk of cyanobacteria (blue-green algae) and phytoplankton blooms is assessed as low. Risk of large quantities of seaweed being washed ashore is assessed as low. Glass shards, litter, and chemical pollution including oil spills may occur.
