Tambohuse ved Egebjerg Camp is a 250-meter-long beach composed of fine sand with small stones scattered evenly across it. The beach is 10–20 meters wide and located at Tambosund Campingground on Tambosund in Limfjorden. The area is quiet and scenic, with a large nature area to the southeast and forest to the northwest. The water is classified as saltwater with currents primarily from the north and northwest.

Water

Saltwater fjord (Limfjorden). Water depth increases gradually from the shore, with depths under 2 meters extending approximately 220 meters from the coast. Current direction is variable, predominantly from north and northwest.

Location

Located at Tambohuse ved Egebjerg Camp in Struer Municipality, Denmark, on Tambosund in Limfjorden. Parking is available at the site.

Facilities

Toilet facilities, waste bins, parking, and warning signs for water quality advisories are available.

Season

Bathing season monitored May through September; water quality classification is reviewed annually in May before the bathing season begins.

Water Quality

Water quality is classified as Excellent. Classification is based on routine monitoring for indicator bacteria (E. coli and enterococci) conducted during the bathing season in the period 2011–2014. The beach meets required standards. Three stormwater discharge outlets exist along the beach where rainwater from the campground may be released; stormwater can contain high concentrations of faecal bacteria during heavy rain, and direct swimming opposite these outlets is not recommended. Under normal circumstances, these outlets have minimal influence on water quality.

Risks

Three stormwater discharge outlets present potential for faecal contamination during rainfall. Risk of cyanobacteria (blue-green algae) blooms is low. Risk of phytoplankton blooms is low. Risk of macroalgae (seaweed) accumulation is low. Glass fragments, waste, and chemical pollution including oil spills may occur. Sudden contamination from accidents involving pleasure boats, slurry tanks, and sewage lines is possible.
