Telegrafvejen is a bathing site located on a sandy beach facing Kattegat in the western part of Rørvig, Denmark. The beach is approximately 600 meters long and 30 meters wide. The water is brackish, a mixture of salt and fresh water. The bathing water has been classified as excellent quality based on data from 2016–2019. The site is situated in a nature-protected area with forest behind the beach.

Water

Sandy beach approximately 600 meters long and 30 meters wide facing Kattegat. Brackish water with depth of approximately 0.5 meters at 12 meters from shore, 1 meter depth at 34 meters from shore, and 2 meters depth at 125 meters from shore. Current direction is highly variable.

Location

Western part of Rørvig, accessed via Telegrafvej. Parking is available near the beach, along with toilet facilities and accessible restrooms.

Facilities

Parking, toilet, accessible restroom, waste bins with sorting, blue flag, information board, telephone, lifeguard equipment and first aid supplies, lifeguard on duty at times.

Water Quality

Water quality classified as excellent (2019 classification based on 2016–2019 data). Twenty bathing water analyses are conducted annually. Two advisory notices against bathing were issued in 2018 due to exceedances, with water quality restored within 3 days. Two registered discharge points with unknown water quality exist approximately 500 meters east and west of the site.

Risks

Risk of cyanobacteria, phytoplankton, and macroalgae growth is low. Bathing is advised against if water clarity is poor. Glass shards, litter, and chemical pollution including oil spills may occasionally occur. Two registered discharge points with unknown water quality exist nearby.
