Water

Brackish water (mixture of salt and fresh water) in Rørvig Harbour. Water depth exceeds 1.5 metres at the bridge's end and reaches 2 metres approximately 25 metres from the structure. Current direction is variable.

Location

Located in Rørvig Harbour, accessible via Toldbodvej. The bathing bridge is positioned on the west-facing harbour mole. Toilets, parking spaces, waste bins, and rescue posts are available near the harbour. The bathing spot is situated within the town zone.

Water Quality

Classified as excellent quality in 2019 based on data from 2016–2019. In 2018, slightly elevated bacterial levels were detected in several samples; the source was unknown. No cyanobacteria, phytoplankton, or macroalgae have been found during three years of analysis. Several registered stormwater outlets exist near the bathing spot, the closest 100 metres away with unknown water quality. Rørvig Wastewater Treatment Plant is located approximately 1.5 kilometres east and may influence bathing water quality.

Risks

Stormwater outlets with unknown water quality are present near the bathing spot. Glass shards, litter, and chemical pollution including oil spills may occasionally occur. Swimmers are advised not to bathe if water clarity is poor or feet cannot be seen at knee depth. Children should not play or bathe near washed-up algae due to potential toxin formation and bacterial survival.
