Viale Colombo N. 10 is a bathing beach in the Marche region near Fano. The beach features fine quartz-feldspathic and calcareous-siliceous sand with an average slope of 3%. It is protected by artificial rocky outcrops. The distance from the water at medium-low tide to high tide (safe water limit) is 80 metres. The surrounding area consists of urban settlements with a railway line passing through.

Water

Coastal marine water (Fano_Senigallia body of water). Average beach width is 20 metres. Astronomical tide range is 30–50 centimetres.

Location

Mondolfo, Pesaro Urbino Province, Marche region. Located at Viale Colombo N. 10. The Tourism Office (Villa Valentina) is at Viale Carducci N. 85, Marotta di Mondolfo, telephone 0721/960665.

Facilities

Sidewalk, bicycle path, disabled access ramps, first aid and lifesaving services, toilets, refreshment points along the waterfront. Animals are not permitted on the beach.

Water Quality

Water quality classification is E. The Marotta wastewater treatment plant serves the coastal area, receiving approximately 2,500–3,000 cubic metres of wastewater daily via separate sewer collectors. Over the last four years, 12 monitoring tests were conducted on parameters from Table 1 of Annex V of Legislative Decree 152/2006, and 3 tests on Table 3 parameters; all results were compliant with legal limits. Microalgae blooms of Chaetoceros socialis (2008) and Fibrocapsa japonica (2009) caused anomalous water discoloration.
