Villa Tigellius is a bathing area in Recco, Liguria, characterized by high rocky coastline with residential settlements. It is the first bathing water area of Recco coming from the east. The area has been classified as excellent for water quality during 2008–2011.

Coastal water body in the Genova–Camogli water body, classified as coastal waters with rocky relief and low stability (CWA3).

Location

Located in Recco, province of Genova, Liguria region. The municipality office is at Piazza Nicoloso da Recco 14, Recco. The area extends 0.388 square units.

Water Quality

Water quality classification: Excellent (2008–2011). No coastal wastewater treatment plants, discharge pipes, or Imhoff tanks are present in the area. Currently no special measures or specific monitoring are activated.

Risks

The Ligurian Sea is not characterized by cyanobacterial blooms due to predominant oligotrophic conditions. No cases of toxic algal strain proliferation have occurred in the past four years.
