Lido Zone is a bathing area on Lake Candia in the Piedmont region. The beach features flat grassy areas equipped with a pier and has a width of 20 metres. The bathing water is classified as Good based on routine monitoring from 2020–2023. The area is used for activities including rowing in addition to swimming.

Lake Candia. Surface area 0.2 km². Altitude 227 m above sea level. The lake basin is small, surrounded by hills in the south and agricultural land to the north with a marsh adjacent to the lake.

Water Quality

Water quality classification: Good. Based on 20 routine samples from 2020–2023. Escherichia coli 90th percentile: 84.0 MPN/100 ml, 95th percentile: 139.9 MPN/100 ml. Enterococci 90th percentile: 185.9 MPN/100 ml, 95th percentile: 342.2 MPN/100 ml. Potential pollution sources include sewage overflow from wastewater treatment systems and occasional input from the Mazzé irrigation canal.

Risks

The lake exhibits strong eutrophication favouring algal blooms including cyanobacteria, though no toxic effects have been reported. Phytoplankton proliferation other than cyanobacteria occurs normally but poses no toxicity problems. Short-duration pollution events may occur during intense tourist seasons without proper maintenance or from irrigation canal water surplus.
