Zwischenahner Meer is the third largest inland lake in Lower Saxony. The lake reaches a maximum depth of 5.50 metres. Motorboats are prohibited on the lake. The bathing area at Rostrup is located at a DLRG rescue station on the western shore and features a sandy beach. A non-swimmer zone extends from the shore to approximately 50 centimetres water depth and is separated from the swimmer zone by a swimming line.
