Zwischenahner Meer is the third-largest inland lake in Lower Saxony. The lake reaches depths of up to 5.50 metres and typically has a thick layer of putrid sludge beneath the water surface. The largest bathing area is located in the spa park of Bad Zwischenahn on the southern shore, behind the Ammerland farmhouse and windmill. The bathing area features a large meadow for sunbathing and a playground.
